Stephanie M. Riccobene writes to Rev. Tim Brown, S.J. concering peace and nonviolence
Dear Rev. Brown:
I am writing regarding your decision to bar Kathy Boylan from your Church, in Jesus' name.
As you know, Jesus commands that we love our neighbor and live our lives in solidarity with the poor, the oppressed, the downtrodden and the otherwise marginalized of society. In view of Christ's commandments concerning the poor, oppressed and marginalized, I beseech you to reconsider your decision to bar Kathy Boylan from your church--especially in view of her firm commitment to solidarity with the poor as a Catholic Worker, her following Jesus' instruction to "sell all you have, give the money to the poor, and follow Me", and her commitment to peace and nonviolence which Christ exemplified throughout his public life by nonviolently resisting the injustices of the society in which He lived and worked.
Thank you for your kind consideration.
