RE: Gilbert, Carol
Register Number: 10856-039

Dear Mr. Cvetnick:

Your pre-release request resulted in an investigation regarding Ms.Gilbert's pending release from incarceration to the District of Maryland. The following is considered:

Residence: The release plan reflects that Ms. Gilbert intended to reside with her friend, Ardeth Platte at 1303 Moreland Ave., Baltimore, MD 21216; 410-233-4067. Be advised that Ardeth Platt is a co-defendant of Ms. Gilbert who is currently incarcerated at FCI Danbury. Of note, 1303 Moreland Ave is known as the Jonah House, a central gathering place for the Plowshares of which Ms. Gilbert is a member. It was her participation with the Plowshares activities that led to the civil disobedience practiced in the instant offense. For more information on the Plowshares and Ms. Gilbert access vvww.iohahhouse.org. Enclosed is a letter recently written by Ms. Gilbert from your facility.

Employment: The release plan reflects that Ms. Gilbert is currently without employment prospects and plans to solidify her employment plan upon release.

Special Condition: Ms. Gilbert's release plans indicate rhat she has a special condition stating "the defendant shall not enter on or remain on federally protected, owned, leased or contracted national defense property or premises, Department of Defense contracted, owned or leased property or facilities, or military bases or installation". This condition directly reflects the main focus for any supervision that Ms. Gilbert is mandated to follow. She also owes restitution in the amount of $3,080.04.

Ms. Gilbert's request will be denied by the District of Maryland as she has failed to provide viable plan. We suggest that Ms. Gilbert develop release planning in Colorado where jurisdiction for her offense remains.

Sincerely,
Gregory B. Cole
Senior U.S. Probation Officer
