In loving memory of

Philip Berrigan

October 5, 1923 - December 6, 2002

"Peacemaking is not only a central characteristic of the Gospel,
peacemaking is the greatest need of the world today.
We are the daughters and sons of God,
and that means we are called to be peacemakers."

I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly God, for God makes the sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have? Do not the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brothers and sisters only, what is unusual about that? Do not the pagans do the same? So be compassionate, as your God is compassionate. - Matthew 5: 44-48

In days to come, the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established as the highest mountain and raised above the hills. All nations shall stream toward it: many peoples shall come and say: "Come, let us climb the Lord's mountain, to the house of the God of Jacob. That God may instruct us in God's ways, and we may walk in God's paths. For from Zion shall go forth instruction, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. God shall judge between the nations, and impose terms on many peoples. They shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks; one nation shall not raise the sword against another, nor shall they train for war again. Come, let us walk in the light of the Lord. - Isaiah 2: 2-4
