* February 4 - Motions hearing The motions hearing will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, February 4 at U.S. District Court, 405 W. Congress, Tucson, Arizona. Several important motions will be heard by the judge at that time. There will be a support circle in the courtyard in front of the courthouse at 12:30 p.m.
* February 5 - Trial The trial will take place on Tuesday, February 5 at 9 a.m. There will be a support circle at 8:00 a.m. It’s possible that the trial will continue the following day. More details below.
* Added Festival of Hope speaker Susan Burke is a Philadelphia attorney representing Iraqis tortured at Abu Ghraib and other prisons. She is working with the Center for Constitutional Rights to sue private contractor CACI. CACI has an office in Sierra Vista across the street from the main gate of Ft. Huachuca.

On the eve of their scheduled trial from a November, 2007 torture protest at Ft. Huachuca, on charges of conspiracy, trespass and failure to obey an officer, please join the three defendants: Fr. Jerry Zawada Betsy Lamb (in spirit from prison in Florence, Arizona, where they await trial) and Mary Burton Riseley (in person)

February 4 - Motions Hearing 1:30 p.m., U.S. District Court, 405 W. Congress, Tucson, Arizona Support circle will take place at 12:30 p.m. in front of the courthouse
February 5 - Trial 9:00 a.m., U.S. District Court, 405 W. Congress, Tucson, Arizona Support circle will take place at 8:00 a.m. in front of the courthouse Fr. Jerry Zawada, Betsy Lamb and Mary Burton Riseley were arrested on November 18 during a protest at Ft. Huachuca against torture, and charged with trespass, conspiracy and failure to comply with a police officer. On December 4 they entered a plea of not guilty. Zawada and Lamb were taken into custody on December 4 because of failure to heed court orders in pending cases in other jurisdictions. They are both in prison in Florence, Arizona. Also, Fr. Steve Kelly and Fr. Louie Vitale are serving a 5 month prison sentence for their witness against torture at Ft. Huachuca in November, 2006.
